As a company, we respect the privacy of our each and every one of our customers, therefore we do not record videos/take photos of guests at our shows. We only share the videos/photos that customers have provided for us to share on our website.
Do you allow potential clients to come to an event
that you are DJing?
We get asked this many times and our response is always "No". The reason we don't allow that is for the privacy of our customers events. If it was your wedding or private party, you wouldn't want random people coming into your show invited by your DJ either.
How long have Sound & Light DJ's been DJing?
All of the DJs who are represented by Sound & Light have a minimum of 10 years of professional DJ experience.
What is your cancellation policy?
Clients may cancel up to 30 days prior to the event start date without being liable for the remaining balance, however any deposit money required will not be returned.
What is your backup plan if My DJ Can't Make It To My Event?
We always retain one DJ per weekend as a backup in the event of an emergency.
How early will the DJ arrive to start setting up?
Our DJs arrive 1-2 hours prior to the contracted start time to set up depending on the type of load-in/DJ set-up for each event. We do not like to set up while your guests are present.
Do I tip the DJ?
We do not include gratuity in the final contract price. 10 – 20% is generally recommended if your DJ did a great job, but it is entirely up to you.
What are your payment terms?
A deposit is required at the time of booking. The amound depends on the type of event. The remaining balance is due the day of the show. Payments can be made by cash, check Paypal, Zelle, Venmo or credit card.
Can we bring our own music for the DJ to play?
Sure, but we would like to get the music file(s) in advance of the event. If doing this please consider the audience attending your event.
How many songs should I request?
You can select songs that you would like to hear at your event (as well as songs you don’t want to hear) by creating a list and submitting it to your DJ at least 1 week before your event. The number of songs you request is totally up to you! We recommend giving your DJ at least 10-15 songs of different genres and artists that you would like to hear. A few songs/artists that you don’t want to hear is always helpful as well. If you end up requesting a lot of songs, just keep in mind the time constraints of your event.
Will the DJ play requests?
Our DJs do take requests and may play some of them. Our DJs “filter” requests given to them. They will not play a song that you specifically asked the DJ not to play or music from a genre you asked the DJ not to play. If someone makes a request that fits in well with what the DJ is playing at the time and with the music the client wants, then the DJ may play the request.
What is your travel radius?
We have DJ's positioned all over our the areas that we service so we can pick a DJ that is positioned closer to your event so they have less travel time.
Should we feed the DJ at our event?
This is not required and is completely up to you. The catering director or event coordinator will set aside a meal or boxed dinner for the DJ if you request them to.
